I have thick curlyyy hair and i want to get it chemically straightened. I have side bangs and they have been straightened already, so I know that my hair is strong enough. I just dont want my hair to be damaged. Should i straighten the rest of my hair? Are there any people with the same hair type as me that have had this expierience or even pictures would be wonderful!!! thank you and please help me!!!

straightening your hair WILL be damaging, whether you do it chemically or you do it every day w/ a dryer or flat iron. but you're better off straightening it w/ a flat iron, and only washing it once every few days.

what I would do is ask them what I can do before I get it chemically straightened so it won't be damaged.

if you want don't wanna ruin your hair, then don't get it chemically straightened.. i know the idea of straight, easily maintainable hair sounds like heaven (believe me it's not) but you don't want to ruin your hair =(

My friend has naturally curly hair. She straightens her hair every other day, and uses the "chi" straightener. It looks amazing. She has pretty red hair so it looks wickedly sweet.... %26lt;3

Just make sure you use a serum for you hair that protects your hair from the heat of any heating tools, and get regular trims (every 3-4 months), plus use a good conditioner (aveeno, aveda, aussie......) NOT PANTENE. lol

I am a cosmetologist, so I am speaking with knowledge. You will be fine if you go for it! As long as your hair is not color-treated(died, bleached). This mean the whole hair shaft. The area(s) that you want to be straight has to be virgin hair. Leave it to the professionals....

i have very curly hair and i flat iron my hair every month ,but when you straightn it a lot u can see the split end and drys your hair out.
