What can you do with layered hair WITHOUT just straightening?

I have VERY DARK black (almost a jet black) layered hair 2 inches past my shoulders with side bangs.

I know everyone's going crazy with the straightening craze, and I almost always straighten my hair too.

What are some other styles though for layered hair, that are not just straightening?

I know I can put it in a ponytail, etc. but I'm just looking for something easy / unique.

(I AM willing to straighten my hair to get the look.)

Any pictures / hair websites would be appreciated.

why not curl your hair,

or get some mousse and scrunch dry it about half away so the middle/bottom of your hair is curly?

i find it quite easy especially on lazy days :)

I would still straighten the bangs, but use a curling scrunching gel on your hair when it's damp, and then blow dry your hair to get a cute wave.

You could take your top layers (the shorter ones) and back-comb/tease/rat them to make them puffy and more volumized. They'll stand out more from the rest or your hair (if it's straight). This also looks very rocker chic.

You could also take your bangs and comb them back and just clip them to your forehead.

You could also use a flattening iron to turn the tips towards your chin, so it looks like a face frame. then you could take the back layers and flip them out a little bit.

My advice, just make it messy yet cute. I just got layers two days ago, and i've been having a ton of fun playing it up. I highly recommend teasing the short layers and leaving the rest straight, it's different and cute.

wot i do is i take the top 'layer' and clip it up and straighten down the rest of my hair until its realll straight :D

den i take down the clipped bit and kinda straighten it a WEE bit just to make it blend in *just kinda clip it was da straighteners a couple of times!*

den get this volumizing spray *or hairspray will work* and spray it evenly across da top layers, then get ur hand and kinda scrunch it all up makin it look poofy! dya get it?

trust me, its sooo unique and if u get it rite, it will totally work
