for frizzy dry ugly hair? if its permanent, what about the fact that new hair (replacing fallen out hairs) grows each day; hair grows evryday, wouldn't your ORIGINAL hair eventually reappear again? that'd be a waste of money.
if it works, are you able to get your hair looking how YOU want it, WITHOUT your hair ending up SHINY or FLAT (thin)? also is it possible for the salon to straighten it without making it PIN straight (but to leave a minimal wave)? do they permanently moisten hair?

It's not permanent, u will have new growth, and like any other chemical process, it can be unpredictable, and damaging depending on hairs condition.

Yeah, your original hair would reappear as it grows out.
You should be more concerned about damage than shiny or flat. It might end up getting pretty thin, especially if you already straighten it or damage it with dyes or styling.
And you'd have to call a salon to see what different levels of straightening they can do, for sure. I'm not totally sure on that one.

when you get the at home kit its like going and getting a perm they usually last about 3 months. i had a perm and hated it so i used the at home straightening kit and it worked.yes my hair is still straight 3 years later. yes u can get a wave perm that will give your hair body. instead of frying your hair with chemicals try repairing it with some good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. i just started using sunsilk(the pink 1) and its great. then get some repairing hair products(pantene has a good line) good luck

I used chemical straighteners for decades, but have now stopped using them and am embracing my natural hair. Chemical straighteners damage your hair by breaking your natural bonds. It weakens your hair and makes it more prone to dryness and breakage. You will need to treat it with extra care!
Your natural hair WILL grow back, so you will need to have a retouch every 6-8 weeks or so. The retouch should only be applied to your new growth. The previously straightened hair is permanently straightened. They don't call it a "perm" for nothing!
As for it looking flat or thin, it depends on the type of hair you have. Chemical straighteners will relax your cuticles, so your hair will look "flatter" or "thinner" than before, but you can always use products to add volume. You will need to moisturize your hair daily to keep it in good shape.
