My hair is a lot of fun, once it is straightened. I don't get why after it gets wet, why its not straight anymore once it dries up. Can someone tell me why this, and maybe even give an idea as to how i can keep it straight? thanks.
Why does Washing your hair after straightening it make it curl up again? Shouldn't it stay straight???
Okay, this is going to sound complicated. Whether you have curly or straight hair is determind by two types of bonds (sulphur and hydrogen). The sulfur bond can only be altered with strong chemicals, while the hydrogen bond can be manipulated using heated tools and styling products. When water gets into the hair's core, it dissolves the hydrogen bonds that you styled into place with your hair straightener. Once that happens, the hair goes back to its natural texture, which is determined by the sulphur bonds in the hair.
Here are some styling tips:
1.You should look for products that have silicon in them, which seals the cuticles of the hair and makes them more water-resistant. 2. You should apply a hair serum to your hair only when it is soaking wet because that's when you actually have complete control over your hair.
3. Use an ionic hair dryer, which helps manage frizz.
4. If you have to comb your hair when it's wet, only use a wide-tooth comb because the combs with very fine teeth with wreck your hair and make it more susceptible to frizz and damage.
Hope that this helped!

I have naturally straight hair, and when mine dries after a shower it gets wavy too. I'm not exactly sure why this happens either, but I think I know a way to keep it straight. You need to blow-dry your hair after your shower. It's really that simple.

your straighen er is HOT. it dehydrates your like an iron on clothers. after u wash ur clothes, theyre normal again, no the crispy feeling. ya get what i mena? my hair is the same way.
your genes say whether your hair is curly, wavy, or straight. you can iron it, but afer it gets clean and wet, itll go back to normal.
advice: if u want to keep it straight, dont get it wet. if you dont get dirty or sweaty that day, put your hair in a ponytail, and stuf it in a showercap. wash the rest of you (so u r clean and sanitary and dont smell) and after u dry, take your hair out and itll be straight still. it works, i do it all the time.
this better help, it took a while to type, lol.

When you're straightening it, it is takes all the moisture out of your hair.
That's why straightening is so bad for your hair.
So when it gets wet you're adding more moisture, making it curly again.
You could consider a permanent method of relaxing it.
Other than that, it's something everyone deals with.
deal with it.

Wetting your hair always sends it back to 'normal'. If you have wavy hair and you get it wet, it will look wavy again, it doesn't matter what style you gave it. It also happens the other way around, if you have straight hair, and you curl it, once you wash it or get it wet it will go back to its natural state. Washing your hair always undo's your 'do. Unless it was chemically treated.
