DIY Permanent Hair Straightening?

Are there any good products out there which can permanently straighten your hair at home? I would be sure there would be.. ?

DIY Permanent Hair Straightening?

no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! where it curly u freak

DIY Permanent Hair Straightening?

shave all of your hair off and buy a straight hair wig.

DIY Permanent Hair Straightening?

BUT UR A GUY.....

DIY Permanent Hair Straightening?

I don't know about do it yourself. If you want to permanently straighten your hair, go to a salon. There are chemicals involved and you don't want to ruin your hair. You can get a straightening iron for real cheap and you can do a semi permanent straightening by a professional.

DIY Permanent Hair Straightening?

Your can "perm" your hair straight.

Also, a very hot curling iron will straighen hair. Various hot iron products are easily available, but I just have mine permed straight at the salon.

DIY Permanent Hair Straightening?

Yes..u can get it from watson a red colour packing (sorry i 4got the brand name) less than $15.00. It doesnt really straitens up ur stubborn curls u noe.

A good hair-straightening protective product?

my hair is naturally curly and kind of fine, and i don't dye or relax it or blowdry it or anything, but the ends SHREAD when they reach my waist. i don't even brush it, i comb it gently. ut now that i got bangs i want to straighten it more. can i keep it from frying it with product so it will be thick and healthy at the ends whenever it does get there again?

A good hair-straightening protective product?

Loreal studio the 1 in a pink bottle is rly gd well it wrks 4 me lo lxxx

A good hair-straightening protective product?

Maxi Glide by Maxius ( Do not buy it from their store it is 80 dollars overpriced, buy it at folica.com )

A good hair-straightening protective product?

I suggest you use the Ion Brilliance Shine Spray: Spray On Polisher. The Panthenol in it adds body and shine, the silk proteins help eliminate frizz, and the pyntantriol in it protects hair from mechanical heat damage. Its like 3 products in one. I have personally used it and I really like it. The only step back about it is that it has a smell that smells like a usual hair product, but it isn't strong.

Another question about hair straightening...? :)?

I do not have curly hair, it's actually pretty straight, but it is very, very puffy and frizzy and get's tangled so easily. Would getting my hair professionally straightened get rid of these problems?

Another question about hair straightening...? :)?

you dont really need to go to a professional

you can use a ceramic flat iron from anywhere the sells flat irons

or frizz spray always works!! you can buy it a sally beauty supply

Another question about hair straightening...? :)?

you can but thats a lot of money to spend...first you have to see whats the source of your puffyness and frizz? is it processed hair? very damaged? also i believe its sometimes the shampoo you use too! some wont condition your hair as well...another fix is after you straighten your hair do u put some kind of serum on it to fix the frizz and make ur hair nice shiny and smooth? thers two that i like biosilk and i love the chi one.

Another question about hair straightening...? :)?

Try washing your hair with a really good mosterizing shampoo and conditioner, while your hair is still damp apply a serum to reduce the frizziness and comb your hair with a wide tooth comb (less breakage) you can blowdry it and then use a good straightner, you dont have to get it done professionally...

Another question about hair straightening...? :)?

absolutely. Jpanese style thermal straightening was actually designed to soften and smooth coarse or puffy hair, the side effect was it oblitterated curls. a traditional relaxer wouldnt be good, too harsh and it only removes curls, not a whole lot of frizz reduction. But a curl softening service such as rusk's radical anticurl or matrix optismooth cold smoothing should take down some of the puff and frizz. If you dont have bleach in your hair, and you can afford it, certainly the thermal straightening will be your best option, the curl softening would be your only option if you have lots of bleach or extensively colored hair. if your hair is naturally straight, you'd probably only need to get it done every year or maybe even longer, until the poof returns. some other names to mention at a salon for curl reduction that would be cheaper would be ISO Manetamer, redken vertical, or vavoom straight talk. a curl softener would probably run at 50-100$ whereas thermal straightening *my favorite texture service* will be over 200, usually quite a bit more, closer to 400, but maybe even more then that for really long or thick hair. besure to ask about experience of the stylist doing thermal straightening, as its require a high level of skill or it can be disasterous. The curl softening doesnt require as much technique as the thermal straightening. You could try the curl softening, and if it isnt satisfactory get the thermal straightening a few months later, they are interchangable.thermal staightening is NOT interchagable with traditional relaxers. they should shampoo you before the process then apply this fould smelling paste through your hair. if they do it dry and it doesn't reek, its a relaxer. you can ask a stylist if its thioglycolate *say thio if you cant pronounce it* based, which is what you want. you do not want a hydroxide *either sodium or lithium* based one.

Can anyone help enlighten me on hair dying and straightening and where i can find some pics of...?

I want to get my hair chemically straightened by a professional but i have a few questions....can u get your hair straightened and dyed in the same day? i am trying to find a good picture of straightened light brown hair with some light highlights and with bangs pushed to one side..anyone know where i can find a good one i have tried looking around, and thanks for anyone who helps!!!!

Can anyone help enlighten me on hair dying and straightening and where i can find some pics of...?

You can chemically straighten your hair or you can color your hair. But not both in one day. Honestly, you really don't want to do both. Both are very harsh on your hair. If you want to chemically straighten your hair be sure to be totally and completely honest with your hairstylist. You NEED to tell them if you have ANY color on your hair. Chemically Straightening your hair has to be done correctly or you can end up with a wreck. So if you've ever had highlights...lowlights...or even one solid color...they need to know. But if after you decide to color your hair go to the same hairstylist. The already know your hair better then a new hairstylist. After straightening your hair wait a week or two before doing anything else. Sit down and talk to your hairstylist before and after before coloring. whatever you do DON'T do it at home. Cut you hair after straightening (about a 1/2 inch or what your hairstylist thinks is appropriate) and again ask your stylist if your hair is in good enough condition to with stand color. He or She is honestly the best way to go about this. Go talk to them...don't call. They can give you an honest answer because they can see your hair.

Try a texturizer...it is a "permanent" solution; but works well. I recommend a product by Just For Me texture softener

Do you know a good straightening iron that leaves your hair?

nice and silky with no frizz once you finish straightening the hair ?

Do you know a good straightening iron that leaves your hair?

Sedu Revolution Nano Ceramic Tourmaline Hair Styler (NEW! 2008 Model)

I bought this one and I love it ...it heats up fast and it has a tempature setting on it and its light and easy to use. This sight has lots of flat irons with reviews you can read up on

And you need a GOOD heat protector to put on your hair before using the flat iron ....it will protect it and it also helps with the shine and silky feeling ......

This site has those kinds of products you can read about as well.....

http://www.folica.com/

Good Luck ~~~

Hope this was helpful ~~~~~

** I paid $125.00 for mine and it came with a pouch for it than you can lay and store it in even right after you use it ( it doesn't need to cool down)

Do you know a good straightening iron that leaves your hair?

i have the Revlon Perfect Heat Professional 1" Ceramic Straightener nd its really great

it leaves mi hair silky with no frizz and i get lots of compliment on mi hair.

Do you know a good straightening iron that leaves your hair?

The chi its sooo awesome!

Do you know a good straightening iron that leaves your hair?

HAHAHHAAA

darlingg there is no straightener that doesnt damage your hairr

putting heat on your hair is always going to damage it

(not saying that i dont straighten my hair)

but i use the paul mitchell its amazing :)

and my hair is very curly im mixed with black and mexican so hahaa

also i choose the paul mitchell over the chi

because you can choose the temp of the paul mitchell

you might have already straightened your hair and just want to smooth out a little frizzy i wouldnt blast my iron up to 400 for that

the chi heats up all the way everytime you plug it up

they both cost about the same so :)

Do you know a good straightening iron that leaves your hair?

Sedu will do the trick...it's a bit expensive though but a great investment!

Do you know a good straightening iron that leaves your hair?

I've been using the Ceramic Tools brand and mine has big plates. I've been straightening my hair since I've been in seventh grade and I'm currently a senior in high school, and my hair still looks just as healthy as it did back in the day. It leaves my hair silky, NO FRIZZ OR POOFINESS and i have really thick, curly hair.

Do you know a good straightening iron that leaves your hair?

Chi brand straightners (helen of troy) are famously the best out there. I've noticed a significant difference in peoples hair when they start using them. However, they're expensive. Also, they're harder to find. Many hair salons will order them for you, and specialty beauty supplies carry them as well.

Hope this helps!

Do you know a good straightening iron that leaves your hair?

I definately agree with xthinkxjuicyx , the revlon perfect heat is awesome. i love it.

Get one at XS Cargo for 30 , instead of paying 70.

Do you know a good straightening iron that leaves your hair?

Chi's do not last long. Don't waste your money, and don't listen to the one's that are telling you it's the best. Sedu is one of the best straighteners out there and it is only $100.

To purcase a Sedu at the cheapest price, go to Folica.com , scroll to the very top and click on Hair Styling. On the left hand side, there will be and A - Z brand list. Find Sedu, click on it, and everything else from there is self - explanitory.

For more information on a Sedu, you can go to sedubeauty.com.

I would also recommend using a 1 inch instead of 1 1/2 inch, because the 1 1/2 doesn't do curls very well.

Good luck!

Do you know a good straightening iron that leaves your hair?

chi and ghd are very good

and hair art

Do you know a good straightening iron that leaves your hair?

mine is a BaByliss PRO.

its amazing it leaves your hair looking smooth and silky. it doesnt damage my hair at all. and it heats up to 395 degrees in just 8 seconds(most straigtners heat up in like 1-2 mins).

GET MINE! LOL ITS GREAT! :)

Do you know a good straightening iron that leaves your hair?

it is revlon it has 25 different heat settings i know i use mine daily

Man looking for hair straightening products?

I got curly hair and I want to straighten it or make it less curly morel like wavy, and I am a guy.

I also am balding norwood 1, So getting perm and using flat iron is a no no.

But what creams or shampoos or whatever could I use to make it wavier or straighter instead fo curly?.

I read about a product curlaway but I don't know how good it is, and if there is something better. Besides guys with balding are not supposed to mantain a clean scalp in order to avoid hair loss.

Man looking for hair straightening products?

I use Herbal Essences Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner.

I think there are straight creams available that "claim" to make hair straighter.

But I think getting your hair Japanese straightened, getting it relaxed, or using a flat iron are the only ways to go.

Man looking for hair straightening products?

i dont know i think this so good its not wrong for me

Does permanent straightening make you lose hair?

I wanted to get my hair straightened, but my mom won't let me because she says that I'll lose hair. Can you also give me the names of good salons in southern california, like in Los Angeles or Orange County? Thanks so much!!!

Does permanent straightening make you lose hair?

If it's done correctly, you should not loose your hair but it will cause damage to your hair. The damage could result in breakage. The root will still be intact so it can grow back. You have to make sure that you condition your hair well and not do things that will exacerbate breakage (brushing it too hard, pulling it back too tight, etc)

The best thing to do is to go to a few salons and have them answer your questions about the process. If you feel that they are not answering your questions or are ignoring your concerns move on and find a salon you are comfortable with.

Does permanent straightening make you lose hair?

no it does not. my sister is been doing it for ever and her hair couldnt be any more full!

Does permanent straightening make you lose hair?

nope

Does permanent straightening make you lose hair?

In the long run, if you do it over and over again, yes. If it's an occasional or one time thing, no. It has the same effect as dye.

Does permanent straightening make you lose hair?

You're hair will not fall out but it will break off!

If you find a salon that does a good job without the damage it will prob cost you!

Does permanent straightening make you lose hair?

My friend got her hair permanently straightened and it got so dried out. I don't think your hair will fall out but I know it's not good for your hair.

Does permanent straightening make you lose hair?

it doesnt cause you to lose hair, but it doesnt work either. i got it done a few years back, and i only had wavy hair. i still had to straighten in every morning and it seemed to make it even more frizzy. its a waste of money big time.

Does permanent straightening make you lose hair?

if you're talking about getting it chemically straightened, just dont do it. really. im not trying to be annoying, but dont. my friend had thick hair and shes had hers done i think 2 times maybe three... but you get it done like every 6 months or so. and its expensive... but the effects on your hair... oh god.. it makes your hair soooooooooo thin. it also makes it feel like straw. and look like it too. it feels rough. also, if you're in to styling your hair and stuff, it wont work well. its as if your hair is permanently flat and in that way so ponytails have a lot of bumps and dont look right and your hair isnt flowing out from that rubber band, its a bunch of stiff straw sticking out.

you cant scrunch it either.

eh i hoped that help, i wouldnt do it. i mean maybe it was just her hair. but i really wouldnt do it. you dont know how your hair will react and also it just looks unnatural...

Does straightening ur hair affect ......?

like is there like rays that can affect the person who is getting their hair straightened that can make them dumber

like rays that can affect thier brain?

just curious!!

Does straightening ur hair affect ......?

Nope.Well i don't straighten my hair cause it's naturally straight but my friend she does %26amp; she is in/is going to be in the upper high classes for school and is smart but i think microwaves might have an effect.

Does straightening ur hair affect ......?

nope. but microwaves can.

Does straightening ur hair affect ......?

nope. :]

Does straightening ur hair affect ......?

nope, i don't think so.

Permanant hair straightening??

I have naturally curly/wavy, frizzy, dry hair and I think it looks much better straight. I have a straightener that I use now but when I get older I want it permanantly straightened. What is the best way to go for this and what isn't good. How do I find a place to do it?

Permanant hair straightening??

One of my friend tried to "permanently" straighten her hair by buying perm solution and brushing it straight until it dried. It was sort of straight, but "fried" at the same time. She ended up wishing her curly/wavy hair was back.

Go to a salon and consult a specialist. There are ways you can make your hair straight or straighter. Remember, trying to save money on this would not be the best idea, considering you will be stuck with the look for awhile, good or bad!

- To answer you next questions you added. I am 22 now, but I was 20 when my friend tried to do it herself at home. One of her friends told her how to do it. Well, tried to tell her how to do it.

If you go to a good salon most of the time they will give you a FREE consultation to review your hair and tell you what type of results to expect. I would suggest doing that first before spend a bunch of money and not getting the resluts you expected!!

Permanant hair straightening??

i dont think you can get your hair permenatly straightened but i might be wrong. but i do know that if you are straightening your hair alot now and then you go to get that done it will really damage your hair wich will result to it looking really bad, frizzy and kind of like a granny's hair. hehe. it might even fall out if you damage it too much.

Permanant hair straightening??

Go ahead. It will put your hair in shock. I had it done. It works wonders. My hair is super dry a frizzy. But now it is silky and smooth!

Permanant hair straightening??

The best thing to do is to go to a salon and have a proffesional do it. Permanently straightning your hair isn't good because it breaks it off and can leave it feeling dry.

Should we use hair straightening machine on wet hair or dry hair?

DRY HAIR! if you use a straightener on wet hair your're just frying your hair! Unless you have a straightener that says it straightens from wet to dry.

Should we use hair straightening machine on wet hair or dry hair?

Wet.

Should we use hair straightening machine on wet hair or dry hair?

Always dry and make sure the element is ceramic.

Should we use hair straightening machine on wet hair or dry hair?

dry hair if u use it on wet it damages it more

Should we use hair straightening machine on wet hair or dry hair?

Some work on both dry and damp hair. Anything electrical should be used with extreme caution around moisture. The package should have information on it as to whether it's safe for use on damp (towel dried) hair.

Should we use hair straightening machine on wet hair or dry hair?

unless it's a wet dry straightener then only do it when your hair is dry. or else it can melt your hair or cause problems for a straightener that wasn't specifically made for wet hair.

Should we use hair straightening machine on wet hair or dry hair?

Straighteners are meant to be used on dry hair or you will damage your own hair or hurt yourself. STUPID IDEA.

...unless they are wet to straight straighteners.

Should we use hair straightening machine on wet hair or dry hair?

there are special types of flat irons for wet

Should we use hair straightening machine on wet hair or dry hair?

dry. won't work on wet hair. it'll just curl up. don't use the machine if you are alone if you don't know the answer. you could hurt yourself.

Should we use hair straightening machine on wet hair or dry hair?

I use it on damp hair.

Should we use hair straightening machine on wet hair or dry hair?

dry hair, it'll burn otherwise! also use a straightening cream prior to straightening for better results, apply this to dry hair... this works fine, it doesn't cause hair to singe

Should we use hair straightening machine on wet hair or dry hair?

use it when your hair was little dry but not too dry ( wet will not straight and too dry will be hurt your hair )

Should we use hair straightening machine on wet hair or dry hair?

If you use it when your hair is wet the straightener could burn your hair.Use it when your hair is dry,but if you do to much,it will dry out your hair.GOOD LUCK!

Should we use hair straightening machine on wet hair or dry hair?

Dry hair unless the you buy the one specifically designed for wet hair. It just came out. But I suggest drying your hair first, either by air dry or brushing it out while blowdrying. Then put a good straightening balm or flyaway balm and straighten it.

Should we use hair straightening machine on wet hair or dry hair?

Sometimes you can do it on both kinds of hair... but normally i would stick to dry hair. Doesn't dry out your hair as much.

Should we use hair straightening machine on wet hair or dry hair?

dry hair!!! it will damage it when its wet

Should we use hair straightening machine on wet hair or dry hair?

dryy ! if you use it on wet hair (even if it's a wet/dry straightener) it will get frizzy and now straight. it doesn't even dry your hair completely.. DONT STRAIGHTEN IT WHEN ITS WET. it just ends up looking ugly :) lol

Should we use hair straightening machine on wet hair or dry hair?

Dry because 1) it might not straighten your hair and 2) the straighten might mess up.

Should we use hair straightening machine on wet hair or dry hair?

I never have.

Should we use hair straightening machine on wet hair or dry hair?

It would work better on dry hair

Should we use hair straightening machine on wet hair or dry hair?

A hair straightner should NEVER be used on wet hair, so only use this on dry hair. And the best thing to put into your hair before using the hairstraightener is a heat protecting oil

Should we use hair straightening machine on wet hair or dry hair?

Dry! If you use it while your hair is wet, it will fry your hair badly. 0_0 When straightening, always make sure your hair is dry and that you use a heat protecting hairspray/moose.

Should we use hair straightening machine on wet hair or dry hair?

dry hair, you cam severly damage your hair if you use it on wet

Help! Hair Straightening Emergency!!?

I have a party to go to tonight for and I have really curly and frizzy hair. I know how to straighten it so that it looks OK but I'd really like to get salon results or as close as I can possible...anyone have any tips or tricks?

Help! Hair Straightening Emergency!!?

Well, shampoo your hair and apply a deep conditioning conditioner. Apply straightening balm and blow dry your hair with a round brush. If you have and heat protectant spray, then apply some to your hair. Divide your hair into sections. When I straighten my hair I part my hair half way width wise. Clip the hair so it is seperated. Then divide the each half into another half. You should have four big sections total. Straighten about a 1 inch section at a time. Once you are finished put some hairspray in your hair and run the flat iron all over your hair again. Your hair should be very straight. I hope your hair looks great!

Help! Hair Straightening Emergency!!?

Tips To Stop Hair Loss %26amp; Keep Healthy Hair Here are some hair care tips that you can use to help stop hair loss and keep your existing hair healthy and looking great. Please don't take these tips lightly. They are very important . The only thing they require is your time and commitment.

- Massage your scalp with your fingertips (not your nails) daily to stimulate and promote circulation to your scalp and reduce excess fallout. Invert your head while you shampoo %26amp; massage your scalp. This helps promote blood circulation to the head.

- Essential oils %26amp; tea . To stimulate scalp circulation, massage the scalp with rosemary essential oil or rinse hair with tea made from sage.

- Comb or brush your hair and scalp gently in the morning and at night. This helps break up hardened oils (sebum) that are clogging your hair follicles. Doing this alone has produced new hair growth. Do not over do combing or brushing.

- keep a distance from dryer's heat. When using blow dryers, always keep the heat a good distance from your scalp and hair. Avoid heating the scalp and hair excessively. Excessive heat will increase hair loss, and excess fallout.

- Avoid getting hair creams, lotions, styling gels and sprays directly on the scalp as they will clog your hair follicles. Use a light hold spray if you must.

- After swimming in a pool, shampoo your hair as soon as possible to remove any chlorine residue. Chlorine is extremely damaging to the hair and scalp.

- Avoid over-exposing your hair and scalp to the wind and sun. Good hair care over a long period really makes a difference!

- Avoid tight hats and caps as they contribute to poor circulation, depriving the hair of proper nutrition and stunting new hair growth. The sweat, dirt and grime around the rim inhibit follicle health and contribute to build-up.

- Always consult your health care provider for extreme causes of excess fallout and thinning. A medical condition or medication could be causing hair loss side-effects.

- Strive for balance and harmony in both your personal and professional lifestyle. High stress factors can cause your body to react by fluctuating hormone levels. This in turn causes excessive oil secretion (sebum) which results in hair loss.

- Pregnancy, nursing, menopause, and even birth control medication can cause constant changing factors on your nutritional needs and hormonal levels which contribute to hair loss and excess fallout.

- Avoid "crash and fad" diets. Proper nutritious meals along with vitamin and mineral supplements are a key factor for healthy hair and skin.

- Good hair care starts with awareness. These hair care tips, if followed consistently, will reduce excess fallout, hair loss, and promote new hair growth.

- Reduce hair loss effects by increasing your intake of vitamin C found in fresh fruits and vegetables, particularly citrus fruit and juices, parsley, broccoli, green peppers and black currants. Take a vitamin B complex everyday or brewers yeast. Increase your intake of protein found in meat, fish, liver, wheat germ, dried cooked beans and peas, tofu, cheese, milk and eggs.

- Take dietary supplements such as Vitamin B6, zinc %26amp; saw palmetto. Supplements are useful when you can't get enough from natural food sources.

- The Chinese believe that hair is nourished by the blood, and therefore influenced by the kidney %26amp; liver. Treatment is aimed at these organs using fleece flower root, wolfberry fruit or mulberry fruit.

- Eliminate stress or else it can be disastrous to your precious hair!

- Get enough sleep. Sleeping well is essential for the health of your hair as well as for the rest of your body.

There are ways you can help stop the grease from appearing but you have to work at it.

Do not wash everyday. The cleaner your hair is the more it can seep into your glands and harder it is to get rid of. When you do wash make sure you are washing with a cleaning shampoo and scrubbing the build up off. Take in mind that you also have to have a ph-balanced mild shampoo and lite scrubbing is recommended. Try to avoid conditioner at the roots, apply in the middle or on the ends.

Try to avoid oil in your daily food intake. And do eat more vegetables. You could visit your doctor but only after you check and consider your diet, drugs, alcohol, and your fatty food intake. Let's face it we see what McDonalds can do to your heart in a month, can you image your hair. You would be dripping everywhere.

Maybe it's time to change your shampoo. Ask your stylist what she or he would recommend. Avoid using shine products at all costs. Keep away from two-in-one shampoos and conditioners and any frizz serums.

To fix at the moment, rub a little Talcum Powder on your dried hair at the roots. Just make sure you wash it out. I wish they would event that magic product, but this will help until they do.

Here are 10 tips for to keep your hair strong, smooth, shiny and beautiful!

1. Keep your diet balanced, and eat protein and calcium rich foods. Stay away from junk foods! This is essential for healthy hair.

2. Foods and supplements to nourish your hair:

* Beans

* Yogurt

* Almonds

* Vitamin B

* Fish

* And of course, the magic potion for beauty - WATER

3. Before washing your hair, comb it well to make sure all knots has been loosened from your hair.

4. Before applying shampoo, use warm water (35 to 38 degrees Celsius) to run through your hair to rinse and wet it thoroughly.

5. When applying shampoo or conditioner, don't use your fingernails to scrape through your hair. Instead, use your palm and fingertips to massage your scalp and hair gently, in circular motions. This will help the circulation and also help to keep your hair shiny and smooth.

6. After rinsing away all the shampoo, run water over your hair for at least another half a minute (3 minutes is best) to ensure there are no remains of shampoo remaining in your hair, since this will cause a great deal of damage to your scalp.

7. When applying hair treatment products, do so just after you have washed your hair, so that your hair can absorb all the good stuff while it is half wet. This will be the best time for it to absorb nourishment.

8. NEVER go to bed with your hair wet! Hair that is half wet is most easily broken, and if you sleep during this time, your hair will be rubbing against each other, damaging your hair in the most terrible way.

9. Too much pressure may lead to hair loss! Relax... try some good relaxation methods such as soaking in a nice scented bath, listening to music, and eating healthy comfort foods such as strawberries and grapes.

10. Perming and coloring seriously damages your hair. Avoid it as much as possible. Also, when using hair setting products such as gel or putty, use as little as possible, because they hurt your scalp and hair. Wash them out thoroughly afterwards with a shampoo specially created for removing styling products.

Help! Hair Straightening Emergency!!?

I suggest to put some kind of shining polish or something like that when you are completely done with the straightening part (I use Shine Shock, from John Freida) on just the ends, if you put it on the roots, you r hair will look greasy. Ew.

To flat iron it, a good tip is to do it by layers. Use a big "alligator" clip, and make sure you plug in your straightener at least a couple minutes before, depending on what kind it is and what it says. First, clip back all of your hair except for a small chunk, and STRAIGHTEN THE BOTTOM FIRST. Start at roots, and slowly pull down. Keep doing this until that part is COMPLETELY flat. Don't settle for anything but what you want for the first part, because I guarantee that that is how it will look for the rest of it. Then you can move onto another part. Keep doing this layer by layer until it is straight.

You could also make it look salony by making the part look nice. If you want a middle part, I suggest kind of flipping your hair back every once in a while during the night so it isn't just laying flat on your face. Side part looks good w/ bangs. Also, you could put a little clip on the top of your head or something like that. Play it up a little.

All these things should really help, trust me, I straighten my hair pretty much every day. Remember, don't overdo the product. It should only be used to make your hair shinier and prettier. Oh, and please, make sure your hair is clean (your hair has to be dry though before you straighten it)

Hope you like the results!

P.S. I suggest getting a better striaghtener for next time, such as a Chi?

oh well try john frieda

Hair straightening tips?

Chi!!!!! You need to get a Chi, because it locks in the moisture and it doesn't leave your hair frizzy!

Hair straightening tips?

Buy a nice straightner, and strighten in small sections. The smaller the sections, the straighter your hair will be.buy a pack of clips and use them to clip up peices of hair as you straighten.Get a product that you can leave in and will take away the frizziness.Dont put too much in though because it makes your hair very greasy.

Hair straightening tips?

first get a shampoo and conditioner that targets frizz. then get a good straitening gel. you put it in your hair when its damp. then get a good straitener. it doesn't necessarily have to be really expensive. when you straighten it, separate your hair into layers and straighten each layer at a time. then blowdry with cold to set it.

Hair straightening tips?

after washing your hair, blow dry in a downward motion while brushing it with a circular brush. follow the motion of the brush with your hair dryer.

Hair straightening tips?

get some shampoo and conditioner made for frizz, then get a straitener that can work heavy duty. Then just try straightening it. may want to try a gel or mousse too.

Does excessive hair straightening prevent hair growth?

yes i know two girls that had beautiful hair when they were young and they kept on perming it and they straightened it everyday before going to school. NOW there hair looks like crap! Its so stringy and rough. It looks dead.. and they have SO many split ends. It looks like a homeless dogs tail. Really Disgusting.....and their hair used to be silky, shiny smooth and wavy. THE REASON FOR DESTROYING THEIR HAIR: THEY DIDN'T LIKE IT BECAUSE IT WAS WAVY!! it looked so nice before.....if only they had listened to me... PLUS since last year their hair has only grown 1 inch where as before it would grow ONE INCH EVERY MONTH!

Does excessive hair straightening prevent hair growth?

excessive heat can prevent growth,

Does excessive hair straightening prevent hair growth?

well..... if you want to be bald then yes. Straightening your hair all the time is not good, because you are pulling your hair and also you are damaging it by using heat.To prevent hair growth then you need to become bald.

Does excessive hair straightening prevent hair growth?

Anything excessive that you do to your hair can't be too good for it. If you want it to grow, at night braid your hair loosely. Any time you use an excessive amount of heat on your hair you are doing harm to it.

Does excessive hair straightening prevent hair growth?

It will make your hair break off so the strands won't grow so long. It won't actually damage your hair follicles though. Make sure you give your hair a break on the days that it isn't really necessary to straighten your hair.

Does excessive hair straightening prevent hair growth?

Your causing damage to it.

yeah a lot of heat and it splits ur ends make sure you spray something on your hair like a heat protectant to help.

Does a hair straightening perm make your hair fall out or burn the scalp?

I'm thinking about getting one but I dont want to make a WRONG choice! PLEASE answer..need opinoins. TY

Does a hair straightening perm make your hair fall out or burn the scalp?

A perm sometimes burn your scalp even if you go to the salon...but if you do decide to get it..GO TO THE BEAUTICIAN....let the beautician know that is is burning so it wont take out your hair...BUT YOU may still get scabs in your head... When you get a perm you have to take care of it (depending on your hair/washing it once a week , also keep it moisturize so your hair wont flake) but ...talk to your beautician and ask her how often you have to get a perm..so your hair won't break off..and how often you have to wash it...because if really depends on the texture of your hair...but defiantly keep it moisturize..Pink lotion is a very good moisturizer...

Does a hair straightening perm make your hair fall out or burn the scalp?

No, unless you have a very sensitive scalp. It has to be done right, not kept on too long. If you have the money, get it done professionally. If not, go to a beauty supply store, and get advice for your hair type. Have someone there with you to help and time.

Does a hair straightening perm make your hair fall out or burn the scalp?

A straightening perm only makes your hair fall out or burn the scalp if its put in WRONG. I recently got one in my hair and my hair turned out great. No hair fell out and my hair did not burn. Since you say your thinking about getting one, I take it it would be your first time. I advise you to go to the hair salon because its really hard to put it in yourself, plus since its your first time it will be hard for you since you dont really know what youre doing. I ALWAYS have someone put mine in. You should use the OPTIUM CARE straightener (its gonna be called a relaxer/perm) in the REGULAR strength since its your first time. You can get it at cvs, rite aid, etc. It has a black girl on the box but ANYONE can use it. My white friend got optium care and it turned out good. You also want to take care of your hair after the perm is done to so your hair will stay straight. Optium care has a whole line of products like spray, gell, etc, it would be best to use those with the perm kit. If you have anymore question or need help concerning the perm email me.

Does a hair straightening perm make your hair fall out or burn the scalp?

NO UNLESS YOU DID NOT FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS, DONT LET THE CHEMICALS TOUCH THE SCALP WHEN APPLYING, DO NOT SRATCH THE SCALP 2 DAYS PIOR OF GETTING A PERM, AND TRY USING A PERM WITHOUT LYE IN IT.

Chemical hair straightening in China?

I heard it is very cheap to have your hair chemically straightened in china. is this true and is it safe?

Chemical hair straightening in China?

yes its cheaper. but any chemical on hair can not be safe. certainly it is going to damage your hair partially.

Chemical hair straightening in China?

it's pretty popular in Asia. it costs around $20 to straighten your hair permanently

Chemical hair straightening in China?

all i can say is that i got mine straightened in Japan, and its not so far from China, and it rocks!!! the chemicals don't really mess up your hair that much, and its still straight-and its been 3 months now...~~

and the guy above me is wrong, i got mine permemently straightened for more then $100, (like $130) but then again, i m in middle school, so i got a 30% discount. yay

Are japanese hair straightening treatments bad?

i have pretty wavy hair. it's good a good amount of thickness, but not super super thick. but almost always straighten it before big events etc. i would like it to be like that all the time. My mom keeps telling that japanese treatments will ruin my hair but i haven't done any real research. is my mom right?

Are japanese hair straightening treatments bad?

Professionally I rarely if ever recommend this treatment. Here is why: The hair is stick-to-your-head-straight, you can not do this over any color or have any color done after. You must wait for at least an 1 1/2 " regrowth to retouch. That means while this is growing in your roots are curly and your mid-ends are straight. Very tough to work with. This hair once straight will not even hold a curling iron curl. Once this service is done, the hair can not go back to it's natural state. I hope this answers all of your questions. Best of luck.

Are japanese hair straightening treatments bad?

japaneese treatments? cool i want one... or do u jean just straightnening ur hair? cuz that will ruin, fry, and make ur hair thin and ugly and just don''t do it.. it kills ur hair

Are japanese hair straightening treatments bad?

they're excellent at getting straight hair, but yes, it will damage your hair.

Are japanese hair straightening treatments bad?

It will damage your hair very badly- especially if you do it multiple times. It also doesn't last forever and you will have to straighten your hair as wavy parts grow back in. I'm sure your hair is pretty naturally. Why don't you wear it that way? If it is poofy when dry just put some gel in your hair when it's wet and don't brush it after it dries. I like the herbal essences gels- they work well for my super curly hair. Check out the website for more info about wearing your hair naturally.

Are japanese hair straightening treatments bad?

I recommend that you invest in a good flat iron. That way, when you want your hair to be pin straight just flat iron with a good serum. I don't recommend that you use any chemicals in your hair, it causes damage, breakage, brittle, and split ends. And you definitely will have to put in a lot of moisture in your hair. Go to folica.com and get a good flat iron.

Japanese hair straightening perm? anyone got info?

like how much is it, where can i get it. ect.

i have medium long hair, brown and i straighten it every day.

will it prevent frizz and simply dry straight and smooth?

Japanese hair straightening perm? anyone got info?

I had one in Korea about 7 years ago....my hair was straight...and i was younger, so i don't think it did TOO much damage..as it would now....it was about $100 there, but depending on where you go in the US it starts at $300 or so...it's pretty pricey. pRobably would cost more because it's longer. It wasn't frizzy for a while..but its been forever and it's grown out now =[ but you can learn how to do your hair easily..i just let mine go now, and it looks ok.

Japanese hair straightening perm? anyone got info?

omg. my cousin got this done and its been a year and her hair is still so beautiful! it keeps all the frizz out and it stays completely straight and shiny. her hair feels so silky when you touch it. i think it cost her about $200 but im not sure where she got it done.. sry.. mayb check online? like google???

Japanese hair straightening perm? anyone got info?

I wanted one, but my mom is a cosmotolegist. She said not to do it because it kills the vitamins in your hair really bad. She said just about as bad as straightening it everyday.

If anything, use a hot oil hair treatment if you do get it, it'll help it keep it's vitamins.

Japanese hair straightening perm? anyone got info?

I have very curly hair and the treatment did virtually nothing to my hair. It slightly loosened my curls but not enough for people to notice. Don't waste your money. Just an FYI: the product was designed and tested on Japanese people's hair which is genetically different than the average American so therefore isn't as successful. The best solution for straightening (for Caucasians) is to use products or treatments made for African American's hair. The new products are becoming less harsh and more safe to use without frying the hair.

Ionic hair straightening!!?

i am interested in getting my curly hair straightened permanetly with ionic technology.

It will take approx 6 hrs and approx $800.00 (Aust)

I am wondering if anybody else has had this done and how great it really is or isn't..

Ionic hair straightening!!?

I haven't personally had it done but met a guy on the weekend who has had it done. He started off with an afro, his hair is now dead straight and in great condition. Since then my husband and I have been looking for a place in Melbourne to get it done. I've found one place that charges between $500 - $800 depending on length and thickness of your hair.

Ionic hair straightening!!?

No idea, but girls look good with straight hair, especially when they get it to be all wavy, which needs to have straight hair at first.

Ionic hair straightening!!?

i am sorry, my hair is naturally straight, but if you have the money to do it, and you want to, do it!!!! you could try seeing if you can find before and after pictures on the internet. but if you don't mind me saying that you may get tiered of having straight hair. but it is your choice. oh. and the first guy to answer is not all the guys in the world, is he now. ; )

Ionic hair straightening!!?

I don't know... I wouldn't spend that much money right away....buy a really good straightener at first...they sell ion ones that aren't permanent. You want to make sure before going permanent that you'll like it. Try going strait for a whole month before spending the big bucks.

Does hair straightening using hot iron/permanent staightening harm hair? Recommend a good hot iron.?

It all depends on how you go about straightening your hair. Use a hair gloss or a hair lotion before applying any type of heat to your hair. *This will help prevent your hair from any type of breakage or damage, it will also help the look to your hair. Your hair will look shinier, much more healthier, and your hair will stay straight-end for a longer period of time.*

Depending on the type of hair that you have I suggest you use a Ceramic (Gold) straightener if you have more of a wavy type hair.

For a "almost straight or straight" hair, use a Titanium (Silver) straightener.

And if you are look for a GREAT flat iron that will do the job, go after a Curlmaster, Jilbere de Paris, or a Gold 'N Hot.

Good Luck!

Does hair straightening using hot iron/permanent staightening harm hair? Recommend a good hot iron.?

i straightne my curly afro every day and my hair is fine!the best straightener that truly works for me is Andi!!!its not expenxive at all and you can even get it at walmart!!!

Does hair straightening using hot iron/permanent staightening harm hair? Recommend a good hot iron.?

Spend the extra money and buy a ceramic iron. Metal fries your hair. Go to a salon. And dont buy a steam one they suck

Does hair straightening using hot iron/permanent staightening harm hair? Recommend a good hot iron.?

Using a thermal press is the best but as with anything too much is not good. A good hot iron would be one that is ceramic. Depending on where you live they usually sell in beauty supply stores.

Does hair straightening using hot iron/permanent staightening harm hair? Recommend a good hot iron.?

As with any treatment, you will be doing some damage to your hair. Personally I use Revlon's ceramic straightener when I take the time to do mine. I find that if I use it on a daily basis, then my hair feels thinner and is quite brittle. If I use it once a week or so, then my hair feels healthy. (Plus then I get to play with different styles) Everything in moderation...right?

Does hair straightening using hot iron/permanent staightening harm hair? Recommend a good hot iron.?

yes straighting your hair is bad for your hair but i recommend a tourbeilen hair straightener and use a straighting cream for your hair before you straighting it and get a non-burning spray that will keep you from burning your hair and dont use your hot iron every day cuz tht will burn it to .

Does hair straightening using hot iron/permanent staightening harm hair? Recommend a good hot iron.?

years from now your hair will start looking dead if you use hot iron productsz every single day, dont worry there is a hair spray for dat, itsz some kind of hair protector spray you put on before you use the hot iron.

-- any iron thatsz expensive around 20%26amp; is good :)

Are there any safe ways to try straightening my hair myself?

My mom usually does it, but I would like to learn how to do it because jmy mom won't always be there, and I just need to learn how to do it myself. When I try, I usually end up burning my fingers, burning my clothes, or just straightening the bottom of my hair. My hair is shoulder-length (a little longer) so I can't see when I do it.

Are there any safe ways to try straightening my hair myself?

well put ur hair up in sections. u want to start w/ the bottom layer first, and just striaghten it!! lol. its hard at first, but w/ practice u can do it. its really easy w/ ur length of hair.

Are there any safe ways to try straightening my hair myself?

Split and tie your hair into like 3 or 4 sections which will make it easier to work with.

Take one section and split it into smaller sections again and straighten it. Finish one section and then tie it back up. Then do the next section ect.

Question about Permanent Hair Straightening...?

I have really puffy hair, not so much curly but very puffy. It's to the point where I cannot go in public without looking grungy unless I straighten it, which I do using a CHI hair straightener. The straightener works great but it is very time consuming to do everytime I take a shower. I know that it's possible to get it permantly done at a salon but how well does this method work, how long does it last, and about how much would it cost considering my hair legnth is above my shoulders. [It can be pulled back into a pontytail and reaches a little past my chin].

If you could help me out that'd be great. Thanks!

Question about Permanent Hair Straightening...?

The most recent and advanced method of permanent hair straightening is known as Japanese hair straightening (also called thermal conditioning). This system was brought to the U.S. from Japan in 1998. It閳ユ獨 kinder to the hair than the old treatments which used hydroxides and lye. Various supporting products and treatments have been developed since 1998 which make this the premier hair straightening technique.

How do I know if hair straightening will work for me?

Look for a hair stylist who is specifically trained to work with hair straightening. She閳ユ獟l be able to assess your hair and give you a recommendation. Not all hair types are suited for traditional straightening, but the new Japanese hair treatment will work well on almost everybody閳ユ獨 hair.

The first step is to do a strand test of your hair. This will determine the best strength of the relaxer to be used. Your stylist will also examine your hair閳ユ獨 texture, elasticity, and porosity, and will assess any damage present.

What hair products are used?

There are 5 kinds of hair products used:

璺?Chemical hair relaxer formula

璺?Neutralizer

璺?Petroleum cream

璺?Shampoos designed specifically for relaxers

璺?Hair relaxing conditioners

These will be customized to your hair閳ユ獨 requirements.

How long does it take?

Anywhere from 3 闄?to 6 hours. There are 4 main steps to the procedure:

1. To avoid any chemical burning, a protective petroleum cream may be applied to protect the scalp and also to your hair it it閳ユ獨 been previously relaxed or damaged.

2. A chemical hair relaxer is then applied to loosen, soften, and relax your natural curls. If your hair is overly porous or slightly damaged from being previously over-processed, your stylist may use a conditioner-filler before applying the relaxer. The relaxer is left on for the right amount of time for your hair, and then thoroughly rinsed out with warm water.

3. Then a neutralizer is applied to your hair to oxidize and restore its pH level. This is because if the relaxer created too high a pH (too alkaline), your hair could swell and break.

4. Next, a conditioner is applied. There are two types, the cream conditioners and the protein or liquid conditioners. The best type will be used for your hair, to restore some of its natural oils.

Post-relaxing hair care

If a mild hair relaxer is used, such as Ammonium Thioglycolate, known as 閳ユ涪hio閳? there is little risk of your hair being damaged. However, any hair that has been relaxed will need special ongoing care, both to protect the hair and to retain the effects of the straightening.

Relaxed hair becomes a lot more dry. So you should limit your use of hot blow dryers and hot styling tools. And since relaxed hair is also more porous, be sure and rinse all shampoo out very completely. Use a shampoo that閳ユ獨 designed for relaxed hair.

Relaxed hair tends to break more easily, so be sure and use a good deep conditioner at least once a week. Also use a good leave-in conditioner after shampooing. Conditioners will coat the hair and restore oils and proteins that were stripped by the chemical processing. This smoothes the damaged outer surface of the hair and makes it more shiny.

When combing out tangles, do it very gently. Use a wide-tooth pick and start at the ends, working in towards the scalp.

What about touch-ups?

Many people like to have their hair professionally straightened at a salon, but like to do relaxing touchups at home. This can work well, as long as you閳ユ獧e very careful to apply the touch-up only to the new growth. Don閳ユ獩 apply it to the previously relaxed hair because that will possibly cause it to break.

According to Jacquelyn, the office manager at Salon Cabochon in Sacramento, California, hair straightening has become very popular. "Our curly-headed clients enjoy the dramatic change that hair straightening can offer," she said recently. 閳ユ窔t gives them a whole new feeling about themselves.閳?br>Question about Permanent Hair Straightening...?

I have curly hair and I use the Chi too. I asked my hair stylist if its possible for me to use it she said that your hair has to be really healthy because their is a possibilty that your hair can fall out. So you should relax your hair every week for like a couple of months before you permanenlty straighten it.

Question about Permanent Hair Straightening...?

your hair is just gonna grow back so it would be a waste of money

Question about Permanent Hair Straightening...?

It lasts about 3-4 months. The cost depends on where you go. Permenent Hair Straightening isnt safe for your hair though. It'll damage it, but I guess if it's really bothering you then it'll be worth it! :)

Question about Permanent Hair Straightening...?

i looked it up and it says that its lasts until you cut it off or it grows out. To style, you can simply blow dry and smooth out with a flat iron for silky shiny tresses. Touch up applications on the regrowth is necessary every 6 to 9 months depending on hair texture and rate of growth. This is not a service to jump into lightly. You must be sure you are ready for a permanent change, since this process is definitely not reversible. Proper homecare is crucial. You must use the recommended protein rich shampoo, conditioner %26amp; hair treatments designed to maintain your new look. Protein and moisture are the crucial ingredients in these haircare products. Hair that is not properly maintained will become fuzzy, dull and breakage could occur. dependin on length it cost 50 to 80 dollars. and you might actually want to get it done every 3 to 4 monthes. good luck.

Should I get Yuko Hair Straightening?

I hate my hair. It is thick, dry, and impossible to do anything with.

I really want a stick straight scene hairstyle, but my hair takes to long to straighten.

I'm not worried about my curly roots growing in because my hair gets curly when it gets to like my ears.

Around how much would it cost for someone with thick, wavy, layered, mid-length hair?

Should I get Yuko Hair Straightening?

Well.. my hair has the same texture as yours and I have tried Yoko hair straightening. You will get good results but your hair will fall much more than usual. The cost varies in different countries. In my country, it's equivalent to around $200

A little hair straightening difficulty?

I use products to straighten my hair and it comes out pin straight. but in a few hrs its already has body and is no longer straight like i want it. my hair's naturally wavy, pretty thick. any ideas to help?

A little hair straightening difficulty?

Use a chi iron. My wife complained of the same thing and now swears by the chi. Her hair can get very frizzy and wavy, but if she uses the chi one morning, she will wake up the next day and it is still straight. All she has to do is brush it and it looks as if she just fixed it again.

A little hair straightening difficulty?

you should get a rly good straightener. it should go to about 400 degrees. it usually doesnt poof if u that. my hair is the same exact way and i just use a rly good straightener. hope i helped.

A little hair straightening difficulty?

When it is completely dry, go over it with a ceramic straightening iron. That should hold it in.

A little hair straightening difficulty?

try using loreal's hotline cream and then straightening your hair. that's what i do cause my hair's black and really thick cause i'm south asian. hope i helped.

A little hair straightening difficulty?

use bed head hair control syrum.

hope i helped :D

A little hair straightening difficulty?

try 8 n 1 oil at walmart in the hair aisle. it costs about four dollars and a little goes a long way

A little hair straightening difficulty?

Don't use the products to starighten your hair. I've tried them and it actually helps makes your hair become vulnerable to becoming wavy again. My best advice is to use a heat protection spray. And when your done straightening your hair, then use Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Serum. It helps tame frizzes and helps make it nice and shiny. And I think that you should get your hair thinned out. Not layered, but thinned. It is very easy. You can even do it yourself with a certain scissors for lightening hair. But, I prefer you go to a professional for your thinning. Good luck!

A little hair straightening difficulty?

use a straighting iron my daughter uses one an it does great

A little hair straightening difficulty?

to tell u the truth i dont use a straightening iron.... i use a clothes iron.... what i do is that i apply a straightening cream and then i straighten it like normal.... but it is quite difficult to get it straight from the root.... but at the end its worth while.... i have medium long wavy hair and when i straighten it, it lastes a long time... hope it helps...

*LAURA*

A little hair straightening difficulty?

i have really straight hair but one day my hair was wet and i went outside and i was out with the sun on my head until it was dry and that day my hair was extra straight.

A little hair straightening difficulty?

try spraying hair spray on the section of the hair that you are about to straighten. and then when you are done, lightly spray you entire head one more time. you can brush it so it doesn't get clumpy.

A little hair straightening difficulty?

OK i have the same problem all you have to do is put a little bit of soft hold hair spray in it and i also have this amazing stuff you can put in your hair it is called frizz ease secret weapon it is a finishing cream bye john frieda it will keep your hair perfect for ever but you only need a little bit like the size or an advil rub it together and start at the bottem and work to the top or it WILL look greasy or you can use

in(fus)ium (friss)olofie it is step three it will keep your hair shiny and straigh forever and the best part is you can put it in when your hair is wet or dry it will not make you hair look greasy because it isnt a cream this works amazing you can buy all this stuff at any drug store so it willnot break the bank

it is also a good idea to invest in a really good straightner i use solia you can find it online. i love it. it is light weight and heats up in 15 seconds flat. i think it is like 86 dollars im not really sure

good luck i hope your hair turns out great

A little hair straightening difficulty?

I also have the same type of hair, instead of wavy mine is very curly....I bought one of the best flat irons from sally's beauty supply store for about $70.00 and that was the best investment I did for my hair...this flat iron went up 410 degrees and there was one downside to it...in the back of my hair stayed straight...SO YOU REALLY HAVE TO FIND THE BEST SETTING FOR YOUR HAIR TYPE!!!!

A little hair straightening difficulty?

Get a GHD Straighter, they tha ****.

A little hair straightening difficulty?

A little hair straightening difficulty?

my hair is exaclty like yours and it straightens like a dream!!

Problems with hair straightening!?

I hope your not uning a cheap flat iron. You need a CHI.And you need to section and start from the bottom and work upwards to the top of the headgetting to as closely to the scalp as possible. This will be no problem with a good iron and some good products to put on prior to flatironing.

The cons of Permanent Hair Straightening?

I have really thick, curly, frizy hair. it is the worst! so almost everyday i've gotta straighten my hair which is a total hassel to do. so i've been thinking of getting my hair permanently straightened but i hear a lot of negative things like, there's been cases where you bald at the age of 30.

I don't knowif this is true or not but i'd like clarifications.

and some pros and cons if you wouldn't mind ;)

The cons of Permanent Hair Straightening?

Jerry,

Having your hair chemically straightened is a serious process. It is the single most damaging chemical you can put on your hair. That said, you find ONLY an experienced professional to do it for you, and you can be very happy with the results. You need to continue using professional conditioning after wards, and must have your new growth re-straightened about twice a year.

NO you CANNOT go bald using these products. You can, however, overuse or misuse them (especially if someone inexperienced or you yourself apply them) and break all -though not usually all of it- off very near the scalp. It will grow back, in it's natural state. The chemicals do not penetrate the scalp. They can be used to varying degrees of "straightness." In other words, you can create anything from stick straight, to wavy, to still very curly, and everything in between.

If you decide to do this, be sure you find a salon that has been doing straightening for at least 10 years on a regular basis. Have them do your hair a few times before you have it straightened so they get to know what you want, and how you would like your hair to be. You should also like the person who does your hair. You need to be able to communicate with him or her to accomplish your goals. If you don't like the first one, try another one until you find someone you trust. The cons of Permanent Hair Straightening?

i feel ur pain i have frizzy curly hair and i carnt stand it i hate it

my uncle is a hair dresser and he said it might last weeks months or maybe a whole year which he said he really doubts it it depends on how curly and frizzy and how fast ur hair grows back he said

with my hair permanent straight hair might last bout 3 months to 4 months cause its really curly and frizzy

find out about it first be4 u spend all that money on nothing the hair dressers said to me it will cost me bout $900 thats in aus but hey i got an uncle that can do it 4 free

but there is a con ur hair will be really thin abd loose in some cases it might slowly fall out or it will be even more dryer than wat it was b4 it will be like straw

hope it helps but please talk to a hair dresser and find about it first dnt just go to 1 talk to all the hair dressers

The cons of Permanent Hair Straightening?

Permanant Hair Straightening is the ABSOLUTE worst thing you could ever do to your hair. it might last a little while, but the minute it goes away your hair is worse than ever, on top of that, its really expensive and it not even worth all that money. please, do yourself, and your hair a massive favour and dont do that. you are soooo much better of straightening everyday! ( although that isnt the best thing either)

What is a good hair product for damaged hair from dye and straightening?

I've been coloring my hair a lot lately. I did it 2 times within a month apart. Then also this weekend I got it colored. I decided to add highlights myself, and the first time it didnt work so I did it a second time which REALLY worked. =P I've been straightening my hair a lot lately which isn't putting it in really good shape.

Anybody have any advice? I'm planning on doing this deep conditioning stuff from Longs Drugs.

Anyone know of any good hair products, shampoos, conditioners, ect.

Thanks

What is a good hair product for damaged hair from dye and straightening?

Biologue products are highly recommended by my stylist, she uses that on me. I also have highlights and flat iron my hair a lot. Do a deep conditioner every month and also use a heat protecting spray prior to blow drying and flat ironing.

What is a good hair product for damaged hair from dye and straightening?

Lots and lots of leave in conditioning!

What is a good hair product for damaged hair from dye and straightening?

a really good set of clippers works real well

What is a good hair product for damaged hair from dye and straightening?

When you blow dry or straighten your hair, you need to use a heat defense kind of creme. And your hair is probably very dry. Anything from RUSK is really good.

What is a good hair product for damaged hair from dye and straightening?

if there is a Sally Beauty Supply near you, there is this line of products called BEYOND THE ZONE....

there is a flat iron protector and one called "split mender"

i use both and my hair is GREAT now

i also switched to the Dove Therapy shampoo and conditioner for damaged hair.

Has anyone had GOOD experiences with permanently straightening their hair???

i'm looking into permanently straightening my hair and i hear all these horror stories about it then i see people with good perms. i've seen mixed women like me (im mixed-mulatto) with my kinda curls getting good perms and it turns out good. and with sooo many people saying how bad it is and their bad experiences with it is there ANYONE who has permanently straightened their hair and it look good or even GREAT? if u hav please lemme know. thanx!!

Has anyone had GOOD experiences with permanently straightening their hair???

one of my good friend and her sister had their's done and it doesn't look bad. they didn't have any horrible experiences and they aren't having any problems. just remember when you get it done it is going to be pin straight. make sure you go to a place where they know how to do it properly. people with horror stories either got it done by someone without experience, or tried doing it themselves. also it isn't good for your hair, even if it looks good. no matter which way you choose to straighten it, your still hurting and damaging your hair. there are products you can buy to repair your hair just as there are when you use a flat iron. hope this helped.

Has anyone had GOOD experiences with permanently straightening their hair???

I got my hair straightened~ (magic straight perm) and i loved it for the first 3~4 weeks, and than my hair started to grow. I have naturally semi curly hair, and it was growing out. If you have the time and money to get it retouched every 4~6 weeks, than you should def. do so! if not, just invest in a really good straightening iron and good serum. straightening hair will only take you max 30 minutes, and you dont have to do so everyday! since people should only wash their hair every other day, you'll be good for those two days! totally worth the $300 or so for the iron! GOOD LUCK! ;P

Has anyone had GOOD experiences with permanently straightening their hair???

i had my hair permanently straitened but it burned my hair and gave me splinted ends and it didn't stay strait.so i f i were you i would just keep straitening it with a straightener.

Has anyone had GOOD experiences with permanently straightening their hair???

I had my hair straightend after a perm and it looked really good the only downfall is your hair falls out in the shower and it damages it, so what I did was put treatments in my hair like vo5 and others every week good luck

Has anyone had GOOD experiences with permanently straightening their hair???

I do! Just make sure its what you want to do - and you should straighten it every 6-9 weeks. Good luck girl.

Hair straightening: how lond my hair will be straight and how much it will cost???

Most flat iron cost between 20 and 40 dollars. Your hair might stay straight for a week but it depends on the type of hair you have.

Hair straightening: how lond my hair will be straight and how much it will cost???

when you get perms they usually last a few months or until your hair starts to grow out like it does with highlights or color. it costs about 50 dollars, im pretty sure

Hair straightening: how lond my hair will be straight and how much it will cost???

There's a Japanese form of hair straighting n it can cost u between $500 to $700 depending on how long ur hair is n it will last up 2 5 months or so.

Hair straightening: how lond my hair will be straight and how much it will cost???

straighteners cost anywhere from 20 dollars to 200. I suggest the ones around 80-100 dollars if you intend on straightening often. It definatley depends on the type of your hair , but as long as you keep it dry, your hair will stay straight for up to 7 hours.

these are some good straighteners for great prices.

hope this helps

good luck

%26lt;3

ps tell me if you need anymore help im good with this and addd me to ur contacts ill help.

Hair straightening: how lond my hair will be straight and how much it will cost???

Straightening usually costs about the same as a perm. As for how long it will be...the curlier it is, the more length you can expect to see once it's straightened.

Hair straightening: how lond my hair will be straight and how much it will cost???

my friend got it done and it lasted about 8 months. the lady told her it would last a year but by then her roots were showing. She paid about $160-$200 CAD (this is permanent straightening)

Hair straightening: how lond my hair will be straight and how much it will cost???

If you're talking about getting a perm, it usually lasts about 9 months but I'm not sure how much it costs, it's different from place to place.

Hair straightening: how lond my hair will be straight and how much it will cost???

A chemical straightener changes the molecular structure of your hair. It breaks certain bonds in you hair and reforms them with others so that is a permanent molecular change. The cost depends on where you live probably from $50 on up.

Hair straightening problems?

I dry my hair everyday with a hairdryer, and i straighten it with straighteners, it is also coloured black, anyone got any good home remedies ie eggs or mayo that will stop it being so dry and being so brittle?

Hair straightening problems?

Get some hair mayonnaise or a deep cholesterol conditioner. You've damaged and over processed your hair. Hair can't handle that kind of abuse. Since you want to work with a home remedy, get some regular mayonnaise, eggs, and coconut milk. Mix all together, sit under conditioner cap 15 minutes - 30 minutes, rinse. If you insist on blowdrying, put a LIGHT coat of olive oil on your hair first.

Hair straightening problems?

Stop washing and Blowdrying and straightening it EVERY DAY! thats the obvious solution. I know it's not a home remedie but I abuse my hair aswell but I use pantene shampoos and conditioners and it's always silky.

Hair straightening problems?

a GOOD deep conditioner (not from walmart or target) and hot oil treatments at least once a week. please do not put food in your hair.

p.s. pantene conditioners have way too much wax and are NOT recommended for healthy hair. very damaging.

Hair straightening problems?

just use hot oil on your hair and don't blow dry (or straighten) your hair everyday. Its really bad for your hair.

Hair straightening problems?

olive oil

Hair straightening problems?

Let it air dry every now and then... don't put any more chemicals into it... and use a powerful moisterizing conditioner... or a leave in treatment.

Hair straightening problems?

you are putting a lot of heat on your hair everyday!!! i would go to the salon or in fact any drug store (ie safeway fred meyers walmart) and get straightening serum. (sorry i cant spell!! ahh!) then straighten your hair with the straightening serium so that your hair stays healthy! :]]]]]]

Hair straightening problems?

Cocunut oil. but u shuldnt wash it everyday. Part of the reason for dryness is cz u taking the natural oils outta ur hair!

Hair straightening problems?

well baby avoid heating ur hair to straighten it usually burns or ruiens ur hair. better u use a good oil if u stil need to straighten that way.

Cause it makes ur more resistant to the heat

Hair straightening problems?

This may sound funnt to you but hopefully you white and if your whit you have two options you can get a hot oil treatment and amazingly use grease its sumthin blacks use

Hair straightening problems?

mix 2/3 of a cup of your favorite conditioner with 1/3 of a cup of mayo...mix and put it in your hair..leave it on for about 30-45 minutes...do this once a week and it works really well

Hair straightening problems?

give your hair a good hot oil trearment, anything from wal mart or stores like that are fine, they dont have to be expensive there are alot of great products that you can find at stores.

Hair straightening problems?

spray some oil sheen on it be4 u flat iron it. (not grease becuz its 2 heavy n it will make ur hair look matted down) n make sure condition it be4 u blow dry it. they hair hair mayonnaise that you can put on it n sit under the dryer for 15 minutes (but u have to buy that)

Hair straightening problems?

try dove or aussie or pantene, they arnt that exspensive and they actually work

Hair straightening problems?

First, give your hair a break every once in a while. Instead of blow drying, air dry and straighten. You should go to walmart and buy pantene pro-v hair restoration emergency treatment. It will bring out some of the softness and get rid of the dryness. Second, get your hair trimmed if it is that dry. Nothing drastic, go for an inch or half an inch if you don't want that much taken off. Next, what type of hair straightener are you using? If it is a metal one, your hair will remain dry. Metal hair straighteners FRY your hair. That's right, it frys your hair like you fry an egg. Go to a beauty supply store or even walmart and buy a cermaic hair straightener. Your hair will be ten times better in no time. If you must blow dry your hair, use a blow dryer in which you can control the temperature settings. Don't put it on the hottest setting but maybe the second hottest setting (the one between hot and cold). If none of this works, see a professional.

Hair straightening problems?

Wrap your hair more often instead of blowdrying it. Hair polish is great you can get @ anywhere beauty products is sold. Steam you hair at least everyweek since it's so dry or at least two weeks. Go back to old school and use curlers at least till your hair recoperated. Cut you ends 3days before or after full moon or new moon.. Root stimulator are great products

Hair straightening problems?

u really shouldnt be doing that to your poor hair. help...help...help ...shes killing us..can u hear them?

i straighten my hair as well- but max. once a week. and i sometimes just let my hair be free and curl.... u have to or ull end up with no more hair to torture for real

Hair straightening problems?

No, but thanks.

Hair straightening problems?

Stop washing and drying it everyday. Your hair doesn't need to be treated bad everyday. If you continue to do this everyday it will always be damaged. You could also use once a week or month cholesterol or oil treatments. It also depends on how often you color your hair. You should wait at least 3 months before you color it, if you're doing it your self you probably don't realize that you are doing more damage than you think. Oh when you are doing a root touch up you don't need to put the same color on the ends. This causes it to be brittle too.

Hair straightening problems?

You didn't mention if you have ethnic hair or just curly--short or bobbed, etc (noticed by your address, you appear to be a guy). Also, why home remedies? It's obviously damaged, and if there is gray under the color, white hair has a tendency to be dry and brittle. Why straighten it with straighteners, when there are protective straightening products and a flat iron that can do the trick. Go to a stylist or a beauty school, and let them evaluate your hair. Get the over processed hair cut off. If you insist on coloring it yourself...color just the roots that are showing...new hair only. Shampoo with an everyday color holding shampoo to make it last and always use a moisturizing conditioner. Use a deep moisture conditioner every two weeks and follow the directions. Go to a stylist shop or the beauty school and get good products. If it were me, I'd air dry my hair for a while, use a good leave-in protective straightener and use a flat iron to get it straight. I'm a female with an inverted bob with thick wavy hair. It's blonde (3 shades--color it myself). Thus, it would be brittle if I don't do the above. If you are truly into a home remedy, my grandmother, boiled flax seed, applied the gel to her hair, combed it straight and let it dry by itself.

Hair straightening problems?

Try a leave in conditioner for a few days in a row an du'll see the improvement straight away! also dont straighten your hair everyday! seriously tie it up if you hate it down and not straight, it'll be in complete bits otherwise

Hair straightening problems?

decent conditioner might help a little

Hair straightening problems?

NIOXIN SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER OR THERE IS A PRODUCT FROM KENRA INTENSIVE EMOLLIENT TREATMENT ADVANCED MOISTURIZING !!!!!!

Very urgent hair straightening problem.......?

ok so when i straighten my hair...then its time for me to go to sleep...the next day in the morning my hair gets wavy again:/

any tips in maybe getting it in some sort of bun or something so when i wake up its straight with a few wavy hair?

Very urgent hair straightening problem.......?

Who knows why it happens, but your hair will never stay straight over night, and putting it up in a bun will only make it worse. unless you use a strong hair straightening spray, i recommend Bedhead by Tigi "Control Freak" Extra straight spray. But that might be an Australian brand. but who knows if it will still work. Ide probably just straighten in the mornings if i was you, thats what i do :)

Very urgent hair straightening problem.......?

Wrap up your hair around your head, use bobby pins and wear a silk head wrap.

Very urgent hair straightening problem.......?

I've heard that silk and/or satin pillowcases help with this.

Very urgent hair straightening problem.......?

i don't really get your question

if you want loose waves, then use big rollers, or just get your hair in a ponytail, put the hair band on it ONCE, wrap the hair in a circular motion, then put the ponytail holder around in once or twice more

if you want straight hair, then just straighten it in the morning

Very urgent hair straightening problem.......?

well, you could just straighten your hair again in the morning.

Or is not just wear your hair up.

Very urgent hair straightening problem.......?

DON'T put it in a bun. From my experiences i have learned that putting it in a pony or bun just makes it more wavy. Can you just straighten it in the morning?

Very urgent hair straightening problem.......?

you could put anti frizz in your hair before you go to sleep or get something called design line by REGIS and it shines your hair and leaves it anti frizzy
