Japanese Hair Straightening, Every four months?

I have had my hair japanese straightened many times, but i normally do it every 6 months as recommended. How ever my hair grows out very fast and by 4 months, I have like 3.5-4 inches of growth. Is it harmful to do this process every 4 months instead?

Hi. I also had my hair japanese straightened frequently. i do it once in 2.5 to 3 mths, as my curls start near the scalp. My hair looks healthy, as I only process my regrowth. So i guess every 4 mths is fine, as long as you condition your hair regularly.

I would ask your stylist then next time you make a visit

As long as your stylist isn't overlapping the product on to hair that is already relaxed you should be fine. make sure you do a conditioning treatment every month in between to keep your hair in optimum condition as well as a weekly at home treatment

That's fairly impressive hair you've got ;)

As you probably already know, Japanese straightening can actually improve the strength, shine, and texture of your hair, unlike most other straightening techniques. In most cases, performing a Japanese straightening every 4 months instead of 6 will not damage your hair. However, if you treat your hair with dye or frequent heat, the risks of harm to your hair with additional procedures do increase. Since you've already been having the Japanese straightening on a regular basis, you probably have a decent idea of how the procedure treats your hair. Is it strong and sleek afterwards, or do you have a lot of breakage or dryness? The results of every-four month procedures probably won't be that different from having it every six months. Calling the salon or stylist who does it for you would probably be a great idea, you can ask the professionals what they think about your particular case, and maybe schedule that next appointment while you're at it. Good luck!

I don't think it's harmful, but if you're really worried then just ask your hair stylist.
