How can you stop hair straightening damage?

I really want to straighten my hair regularly..Because when I have done a couple of times in the past it looks really nice. But I'm worried about damage. I know that straighteners damage your hair but are there any things you can do to stop this..or minimize this? Also, how much can you straighten your hair on a regular basis before ruining your hair? Thankyou

Just to let you know I have hair that is medium in thickness and wavy. It reaches just past my shoulders.

You'll want to use a professional moisturizing shampoo and conditioner every time you wash your hair.

You'll want to do a professional hot oil treatment every month to strengthen your hair.

You need to use a thermal protectant everytime you apply heat...( dryer and irons) to your hairshaft to protect it.

Lastly apply a strengthening/ moisturizing serum to the hair to restructure and shine, to complete the look.,

Loma makes excellent products.

Hydrating shampoo and conditioner

Paul Brown Booster ( thermal protectant)

Paul Brown Kukui nut hot oil ( hot oil treatment)

Loma Peratin Serum ( finishing conditioner)

All of these products are concentrated and take about the size of a pea to a dime size to use in your hair.

If you use the right products...strraightening should never be an issue,

have hot oil treatments for your hair once in a while and buy a good conditioner and use it every time you wash your hair.

Okay there is this really good stuff that you can buy at salons and stuff. Just ask if they have CHI hair products and if they do, it is like a spray you spray before straightening your hair. It reduces damage!

I actually have this leave-in spray stuff called "Heat Shield( idk if that's what it's called, but it says it on the bottle )" made especially for flat-ironing your hair. You just spray it on before you start straightening and it helps protect your hair. You should be able to find it in beauty stores and hair-related places. xD
