Hair straightening problem...?

whenever i straighten my hair i always have random hairs sticking up. How do i get a smoother finish with out damaging it???

Well, you have to put some smoothing/ anti frizz serum...Silk Therapy makes a GREAT smoothing serum. If that is too expensive, department stores sell some good stuff. . You could try any brand that you can apply to your hair before drying. Just rub a dime sized amount for medium length hair and then blow out and follow with your straightening iron or whatever you use. The serum is designed to prevent the "fly aways".

Try putting a straightening gel in your hair before you straighten it.

A little bit of hairspray or "HairSilk" helps. Also, If you cut your hair regularly you will have less stray hairs. I used to also cut the stubborn ones myself lol.

ok... i learned this trick at camp. First you take hairspray and you spray on some... not too much though. Then you take a blowdyrier and put it on hot.... then while blowdrying your hair pat down the parts you want to make smoother. Trust me it works!

Well, just get a new one. Maybe u should try a CHI flat iron. You can get them in Pink and blue I think at target. They're $150 but they work REALLY GOOD! I have really good hair everyday (not to brag)

use a conditioning spray. It helps give control to the hair and keeps it from burning. There are specific ones made for hot irons. You may also need a hotter iron.

i usually put some kind of oil in it before i straighten it.

Then, I puttt use hairsprayy :D

it works for mee, but who knows! You might have a different type of hair..

Try using a silk treatment. I have some made by Special Effects. I bought it at Wal Mart. You just put it in after you towel dry your hair. It works amazing. Or, my friend does this, she put a tiny bit of water on her hands and just smoothes them down. I dunno, it works for her. And, her hair always looks amazing. Try it.

i dunno abt u but whenever i fry my hair i take every tiny group and i dry and brush it at the same time for 10 mins. so imagine how long it takes every day to dry my hair.

Try combing your hair with those finger hair combs then use your hand to gently go over your hair. That aways works for me. Oh and don't worry about ruining your hair, the comb won't mess up what you straightened just make sure to go over it with your hands or fingers after.

Sorry sweetie, you have to change your hair straightener. Try giving the plates a good clean. And if that doesn't help, invest in a ceramic straightener. A good, reliable ceramic straightener will cost you around $100, but if you go to Target you may be able to find a good one for around $50. Make sure the plates are ceramic and not just ceramic COATED because those don't last very long. Usually, the ceramic coated ones are half the price of real ceramic straighteners, if you can't tell the difference. Hope this helps!

i get this all the time too!! its really annoying, sometimes if you straighten you hair at a different angle they go away.

If not, i use a finishing hair serum that smoothes them out and makes your hair go shiny!! :)

i have the same problem. i use the Garnier Fructis Sleek %26amp; Shine Anti-Frizz Serum. it works really well, and it's really inexpensive too. only about $3 at a walmart or target. it helps tame flyaways.
