My hair becomes pretty straight without using hair straightening gel. Is this ok?

I straighten my hair without any gels. Is this ok? And I'm going to try to straighten with a normal hair dryer so is it ok if my wet hair meets the aluminium plates of the brush to straighten my hair? Bcause no instructions are written on the blowdrying process. Can u also pls tell me that?

Using a product before straightening is a great idea even if your hair straightens with out it. Product protects your hair from heat damage that builds up over time, if you don't use any. And yes, its okay if your hair touches the aluminum on the brush when its wet.

You need to put something in your hair before you straighten it. Or else the heat will damage it.

I don't straighten my hair with gel either. that's bad for your hair. your hair needs to be comepletely dry or the flat iron will fry it. And yes, you can touch your hair with the brush.

Well, first off, it's NOT ok to straighten hair without any type of leave-in conditioner, heat protecting spray, or serum if anything. When your hair is damp (not wet) put these products in your hair.

Second, I would rather you allow your hair to air-dry to minimize on the damage to your hair, unless your hair is very curly. Then it's understandable and I would suggest blowing the hair out with a ceramic round boar bristle brush for shine and even heat distribution. They cost around 6.99 and up at Wal-mart.

Before you blow-dry, do air-dry for a bit. Never blow-dry WET hair because it will turn to steam/vapor and burn your hair worse than a flat-iron. Wait til your hair is damp, put some serum/protection spray in your hair, then blow out with a round brush (preferably a boar bristle/ceramic brush).

I would then finish your style with a flat iron, whichever of your choosing, and then say voila! Spray with some finishing spray :)

Hope that helps!!!
