It all depends on how you go about straightening your hair. Use a hair gloss or a hair lotion before applying any type of heat to your hair. *This will help prevent your hair from any type of breakage or damage, it will also help the look to your hair. Your hair will look shinier,much more healthier, and your hair will stay straight-end for a longer period of time.*

Depending on the type of hair that you have I suggest you use a Ceramic (Gold) straightener if you have more of a wavy type hair.

For a "almost straight or straight" hair, use a Titanium (Silver) straightener.

And if you are look for a GREAT flat iron that will do the job, go after a Curlmaster, Jilbere de Paris, or a Gold 'N Hot.

Spend the extra money and buy a ceramic iron. Metal fries your hair. Go to a salon. And dont buy a steam one they suck

Using a thermal press is the best but as with anything too much is not good. A good hot iron would be one that is ceramic. Depending on where you live they usually sell in beauty supply stores.

As with any treatment, you will be doing some damage to your hair. Personally I use Revlon's ceramic straightener when I take the time to do mine. I find that if I use it on a daily basis, then my hair feels thinner and is quite brittle. If I use it once a week or so, then my hair feels healthy. (Plus then I get to play with different styles) Everything in moderation...right?

yes straighting your hair is bad for your hair but i recommend a tourbeilen hair straightener and use a straighting cream for your hair before you straighting it and get a non-burning spray that will keep you from burning your hair and dont use your hot iron every day cuz tht will burn it to .

years from now your hair will start looking dead if you use hot iron productsz every single day, dont worry there is a hair spray for dat, itsz some kind of hair protector spray you put on before you use the hot iron.
