I have had my hair straightened with GHD's every 7 weeks by my hairdresser for ages now. It's straight the day after (or until it rains...usually the same day) then I wash it the 3rd day and the curls come back,

Just before Xmas I borrowed a friends Babyliss 230s and straightened my hair two days in a row (after washes). Now my curls are all but gone. Whereas before I had loads of curls I have just kinks and waves.....

WHY?????

I'm gonna get stuck in the rut or wanting it straight rather than these pathetic waves and will never get curls again!

I used a heat protecting spray each time I did it?

When you use a straightener excessively, you may loose some curl, but it depends on the power and heat of the straightener. It may be that you lost some curl, but in most cases it's only temporary. Don't panic. There are plenty of products that can bring your curl back if you want them back.

if you keep straightening it it will lose its full curl. but dont worry! id say lay off the straightening for a while and see if your curly hair starts to come back. there is also products that you can use to restore its full bounce

maybe, my mum used to have quite frizzy-curly hair and she uses some babyliss hair straighteners on her hair which she has been doing for nearly 2 years almost everyday, and she dosent even use any protection spray, etc. and now every time she blow dry's her hair it goes straight so you properly have the same situation.

They shouldn't have. Try using a diffuser on ur hair. I'd wash it and towel dry it, then scrunch it with some mousse or gel or whatever you use on your hair, then use the diffuser and keep scrunching. This should help to bring your curls back. It worked for me and my hair has only ever been wavy and i use straighteners all the time. Happy new year :o)

thats really wierd becasue i have really curly hair, and ever since i've started straightening it, the front 2 pieces on each side are almost completely straight. i have been wondering, and that might be the case, becasue that happened to me 2.

I'd say next time stop the hair dresser straightening it and explain whats happening and ask why. Im sure though that if you wash your hair a few times it'll be fine.

I dont think so, it could maybe be possible, but I'm no hair expert.

It should be temporary, so if you give your hair another wash, it should be back to normal.
